Flutter Kicks: pace by band

Small, quick, and cumulative. Individual flutter kicks cost almost nothing, and fifty of them cost a burning core and a conversation with your hip flexors. Like mountain climbers, the single-leg versus both-legs counting question changes the arithmetic by half, so fix the standard first.

The numbers

Flutter Kicks is classed fast (short range and little or no load, so cadence is the whole game), which puts a 0.6x multiplier on the base rep rate. That works out to:

BandSeconds per repReps per minute10 reps20 reps30 reps50 reps
Beginner1.80330:180:360:531:29
Advanced1.44410:140:280:431:12
Elite1.20500:120:240:361:00

A band is a pace, not a verdict: finishing at the Advanced line means you moved at that rate on that day. The rates and the class come from the same published config the Rep The Set app computes with, fetched live, so this page and the app cannot disagree.
