Russian Twists: pace by band

Fast to cycle, easy to rush, and priced accordingly. The twist is honest work when the feet stay off the floor and the rotation is real; it becomes a shoulder wiggle when the set gets long. Left-plus-right counting versus each-side counting halves or doubles your numbers, so declare it up front.

The numbers

Russian Twists is classed fast (short range and little or no load, so cadence is the whole game), which puts a 0.6x multiplier on the base rep rate. That works out to:

BandSeconds per repReps per minute10 reps20 reps30 reps50 reps
Beginner1.80330:180:360:531:29
Advanced1.44410:140:280:431:12
Elite1.20500:120:240:361:00

A band is a pace, not a verdict: finishing at the Advanced line means you moved at that rate on that day. The rates and the class come from the same published config the Rep The Set app computes with, fetched live, so this page and the app cannot disagree.
